Ways to create a sustainable classroom:
1. Create a recycling center
2. Brainstorm as a class a sustainability mantra and have it posted in the classroom.
3. Use eco-friendly school supplies
4. Establish "green teams" who's jobs are to power down electronics, close blinds, check faucets and recycling during the last 10-15min of class time.
5. Upcycle by using plastic bottles and other recyclables as classroom art.
6. Create a special bin for scratch paper from unwanted pieces of paper
7. Pint handouts and tests on both sides of the paper
8. Have a small classroom garden
9. Encourage students to use reusable containers for their lunches
